CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award Applicants: check with graduate program; Graduate program nomination deadline: 14 June 2019 These awards are made to individuals who have completed PhD dissertations representing original work that makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline. Graduate programs may submit up to two nominations: one in Biological Sciences and one in Humanities and Fine Arts. To be eligible, the nominee must have completed her or his doctoral degree requirements in the period of July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019, inclusive. (Note: The CGS/ProQuest Award operates on a two-year cycle with regard to fields of competition. The fields of competition for 2020 will be Mathematics, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and the Social Sciences.)

John W. Davies Memorial Award Friday, 28 June 2019 Two awards of $3,000 are offered by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Arctic Section in memory of John W. Davies, a former Chairman of the Section. The competition is open to any full time graduate student whose research will assist in providing solutions to problems encountered in the Arctic or in cold ocean environments.

Awarded to any individual, with preference given to female students currently in leadership roles, whose focus is to improve the business workplace for women.
SRK Graduate Scholarship Sunday, 30 June 2019 SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. offers a graduate scholarship with the intent to assist students undertaking graduate studies in mining industry related areas.
Future Forests Fellowship Not accepting applications at this time An annual $70,000 fellowship has been established by the Moss Rock Park Foundation. This prestigious fellowship will be awarded to an incoming PhD student in the Faculty of Forestry whose intended studies fit within one of the following areas of excellence within the Faculty: Forest Products Biotechnology; Bioenergy; Forest Genomics; Climate Change; Urban Forestry; Forest Management; Conservation; Forested Landscapes; Salmon Ecology; Forest Health; Forests and Indigenous Peoples; Forests and Human Health. The fellowship holder will receive this funding for up to four years and only one student may be in receipt of the fellowship at a time. The fellowship will be awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
