UBC postdoc receives CIHR-IHSPR Rising Star Award for doctoral work

Lindsay Hedden, a postdoctoral fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, has received this year’s Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)'s Institute of Health Services and Policy Research (IHSPR) Rising Star Award, for her work on health services delivery and workforce issues in primary healthcare.

He is taking over from Dr. Janice Eng, who completed her term in December. Public Scholars Initiative project report now available

The report on the first two years of the pilot project Public Scholars Initiative is ready. Now in its third year, the PSI has funded 115 students from all disciplines across UBC who have worked and are working as part of their doctoral scholarship with over 100 different partner organizations in 32 countries.

Barbara Weber has been appointed chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program (ISGP). Barbara is an associate professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education, and an associate of the UBC Philosophy Department.

UBC PhD Career Outcomes report, website, now available

The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies has conducted a survey of 3,805 PhD students who graduated between 2005-2013 to learn about their career trajectory. The results have now been released in a report and an interactive microsite: outcomes.grad.ubc.ca.
