ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award Draft nomination statement: 7 October 2016 Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) established the Doctoral Dissertation Award program to recognize and encourage superior research and writing by doctoral candidates in computer science and engineering. The award is presented each June at the ACM Awards Banquet and is accompanied by a prize of $20,000 plus travel expenses to the banquet. All winning dissertations are published exclusively in print and electronic formats as part of the ACM Books Series, which includes distribution through the ACM Digital Library. Honorable Mention(s) may also be awarded, with a prize of $10,000 shared among recipients. Financial sponsorship of the award is provided by Google.

France Canada Research Fund (FCRF) Scholarship for Thesis Cotutelles Likely in September 2016 In order to facilitate the mobility of doctoral students between France and Canada, the France Canada Research Fund (FCRF) is launching FCRF Scholarship for thesis cotutelles. It will be awarded for the best running thesis of PhD student participating in the France-Canada joint PhD (cotutelle) program.The FCRF Scholarship for thesis cotutelles finances academic study visits in France (one round-trip airfare and monthly allowance) for a Canadian doctoral student enrolled in a thesis cotutelle program between a French institution and UBC.
IODE War Memorial Scholarship Letter of intent: Saturday, 01 October 2016; Complete application: Tuesday, 01 November 2016 The National Chapter of Canada IODE initiated War Memorial Doctoral Scholarships in 1918 to commemorate Canadians who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom.
