ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award Draft nomination statement: Friday, 5 October 2018 Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) established the Doctoral Dissertation Award program to recognize and encourage superior research and writing by doctoral candidates in computer science and engineering. The award is presented each June at the ACM Awards Banquet and is accompanied by a prize of $20,000 plus travel expenses to the banquet. All winning dissertations are published exclusively in print and electronic formats as part of the ACM Books Series, which includes distribution through the ACM Digital Library. Honorable Mention(s) may also be awarded, with a prize of $10,000 shared among recipients. Financial sponsorship of the award is provided by Google.

MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program Friday, 16 November 2018 The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is a global initiative to educate and develop next-generation leaders from Africa who will contribute to social and economic progress. Over a ten-year period the initiative will fund 35 master's students in selected graduate degree programs.
Future Forests Fellowship Likely November 2018 An annual $70,000 fellowship has been established by the Moss Rock Park Foundation. This prestigious fellowship will be awarded to an incoming PhD student in the Faculty of Forestry whose intended studies fit within one of the following areas of excellence within the Faculty: Forest Products Biotechnology; Bioenergy; Forest Genomics; Climate Change; Urban Forestry; Forest Management; Conservation; Forested Landscapes; Salmon Ecology; Forest Health; Forests and Indigenous Peoples; Forests and Human Health. The fellowship holder will receive this funding for up to four years and only one student may be in receipt of the fellowship at a time. The fellowship will be awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
