Ivarson Scholarship provides financial support to students entering second or subsequent year of graduate studies in soil science (agriculture, agro-ecology, resource management, environment, geology or other related disciplines). Killam Connection Likely in September 2025 The Killam Connection program provides up to $25,000 to enable UBC faculty to host an interdisciplinary research forum and graduate course.

Killam Fellowship Travel and Research Allowance Likely in December 2024 The UBC Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies provides current Killam Doctoral Scholars and Postdoctoral Research Fellows with an allowance to promote travel for research and to attend and/or present at academic meetings.

Maple Leaf Scholarship in Food Insecurity Likely in February 2025 Four scholarships are distributed each year beginning in the 2020/2021 academic year, to support Master or PhD students who propose to advance a better understanding of food insecurity in Canada.
Margaret Meagher Fellowship Likely in June 2025 The purpose of the Margaret Meagher Fellowship is to deepen the Government of Canada understanding of China, and to foster the development of a next generation of Canadian policy makers and specialists who will be at the forefront in government, business, education and civil society. This PhD or postdoctoral fellowship ($40,060 for 9 months) is ideally suited to an early-career post-doctoral fellow who wishes to pursue a career path bridging academia and policy making.
Mary B. Jordan YVR Scholarship for Women in Business Likely in May 2025 Each year, YVR will award $20,000 to a female or female-identified student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement, and a passion for diversity, inclusion and community participation.
MCC Canadian Japanese-Mennonite Scholarship Likely in April 2025 The Canadian Japanese-Mennonite Scholarship is intended to assist the protection of minority and human rights in Canada, and reduce the potential for abuse of cultural minorities such as that suffered by Japanese Canadians during World War II.
Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship Likely in June 2025 Microsoft Research PhD Fellowships support students pursuing research aligned to the research topics carried out by Microsoft Research.
Mitacs Globalink Research Award Likely in January 2025 The Mitacs Globalink Research Award supports research collaborations between Canada and select partner countries. The award is open to undergraduate and graduate students in all discipines. Funding varies by destination.
Musqueam First Nation Scholarship Likely in September 2025 Recipients will have demonstrated academic and leadership achievements including, but not limited to, engagement in the arts, athletics, school, and/or their community. The award is valued up to $5,500 annually and renewable for up to 4 years.
Neporany Doctoral Fellowship Likely in March 2025 The Neporany Doctoral Fellowship, offered by the Canadian Foundation for Ukranian Studies, will be awarded to one or more doctoral students specializing on Ukraine in political science, economics, and related fields (social sciences and political, economic, and social history).
New Relationship Trust Foundation Scholarships Likely in October 2025 Successful applicants will be eligible for a maximum of four consecutive years of undergraduate post-secondary funding, a maximum of two years at the Master’s level and a maximum of two years for the Doctorate level.
NSERC CREATE Ongoing A number of active NSERC Collaborative Research and Training Experience Programs are available at UBC. Funding is available to support the training of teams of highly qualified students and postdoctoral fellows from Canada and abroad.
NSERC Foreign Study Supplements in Taiwan Likely in February 2025 Foreign Study Supplements in Taiwan provide graduate students in the natural sciences and engineering with first-hand research experience in an international setting. Award supports travel to Taiwan for eight weeks this summer and work with researchers on projects related to their research studies in Canada while receiving Mandarin training at National Tsing Hua University.
NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships Likely in September 2025 The NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships – Doctoral (PGS D) program provides financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in an eligible doctoral program in the natural sciences or engineering.
Organization of American States (OAS) Fellowships Programs Likely in May 2025 Academic scholarships are awarded to undertake graduate studies that lead to a degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) and/or graduate research at a university or higher learning institution in an OAS Member State. The competition is open to students in all disciplines (natural sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences and arts). Scholarships are not offered for studies in the medical sciences and the learning of new languages.
