A costume design for The Changeling (2020)

This paper documents and describes the design process and final costume design forthe University of British Columbia (UBC) production of The Changeling. The play is aJacobean tragedy written by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, and adapted byMFA directing candidate Luciana Silvestre Fernandes. The production ran in theTELUS Studio Theatre of The Chan Centre for The Performing Arts from January 16thto February 1st, 2020, as part of 2019/2020 UBC season. It was performed by BFAacting students.The director was MFA candidate Luciana Silvestre Fernandes and the stage managerwas Anita Jian. The design team included MFA candidate Luis Bellassai (ScenicDesign), Zach Levis (Lighting Design), Jacob Wan (Sound Design). The costumeadvisor for this production was Jacqueline Firkins and the head of wardrobe was JodiJacyk.

Care's an enemy to life: Shakespeare goes to Mardi Gras. An analysis of costume design for Twelfth Night set in a modern-day land of voodoo and revelry (2015)

This paper documents and describes the design process and final costume design for the University of British Columbia (UBC) 2014 production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The production was the first show in the 2014-2015 season. It ran from September 26th to October 11th, 2014. The director was Stephen Heatley and the stage manager was Kiara Lawson. The creative team included Rebecca Burks (Set), Andrew Pye (Lighting), and Lauren Stewart (Sound Design). The costume advisor for the production was Jacqueline Firkins.

Pantaloons and petticoats: An analysis of regency period costume in Jon Jory's adaption of Austen's Pride and Prejudice (2014)

This paper documents and describes the design process and final costume design for the University of British Columbia (UBC) production of Pride and Prejudice. The play was adapted by Jon Jory from Jane Austen's novel. The production ran as part of the 2013/2014 season in the Frederic Wood Theatre, from November 14th to November 30th, 2013.The director was Lois Anderson and the stage manager was Renee Liyan Liu. Thecreative team included Shelby Bushell (Set and Properties), Chengyan Boon and Robert Gardiner (Lighting and Projections), and Scott Zechner (Sound Design). The costume advisor for the production was Jacqueline Firkins.
