The Impact of Motivational Interventions to Reduce Homelessness
 
Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?

I am pursuing doctoral research because I want to improve human well-being, and I have found that the scientific method offers the best tool to achieve this goal.

Why did you decide to study at UBC?

I decided to study at UBC because of its status as one of world's leading research institutions, and because of its location in Vancouver. I get to interact with brilliant minds during the week and snowboard on the weekend.

What is it specifically, that your program offers, that attracted you?

My advisors are top experts in their field, and they are great to work with.

What was the best surprise about UBC or life in Vancouver?

Public transportation in Vancouver is great, and there are many beautiful parks and beaches to explore.

What aspect of your graduate program do you enjoy the most or are looking forward to with the greatest curiosity?

I enjoy the flexibility to learn what I want and to work on what I think is important.

What aspects of your life or career before now have best prepared you for your UBC graduate program?

Before I started grad school, I spent a bit of time organizing my digital life and creating efficient workflows for things like email and taking notes. I have found this organization to be very beneficial and stress relieving.

What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?

Anything related to sports or the outdoors.

What advice do you have for new graduate students?

People have different working styles. Find the style that works best for you and avoid the temptation to compare yourself to others.
