Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?
My passion is research and writing and I strongly believe in the ethics of humanism achieved through literary culture.
Why did you decide to study at UBC?
UBC gave me the opportunity to teach while studying, gaining experience and professionalism. It also offered me a multicultural context which enriched me both humanly and intellectually.
What do you hope to accomplish with your research?
I hope my research will have an impact on the study of the novel genre evolution.
What are your future career goals?
I would like to be a researcher and a professor in a Canadian Institution in Italy, and create a solid exchange and cultural link between the two countries.
What has been your most memorable Vancouver experience so far?
Through the FHIS department and the French consulate of Vancouver, my colleagues and I had the chance to meet writers such as Renaud Camus, Hadrien Laroche and Florence Delay.
What advice do you have for new graduate students?
We have a lot to learn from the North American university system: organization, efficiency and respect for nature (in Vancouver!).
