Biography

Dr. Kristin Houghton is a pediatrician who specializes in Pediatric Rheumatology and Sport and Exercise Medicine. She has a Diploma in Sport Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM). Kristin received a BA from Cornell University, medical degree from UBC, and completed her pediatric training at Dalhousie University. She returned to Vancouver to complete her pediatric rheumatology fellowship, sports medicine fellowship and Masters of Science (Human Kinetics) at UBC.

Kristin is a Clinical Associate Professor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine and works as a pediatric rheumatologist at British Columbia Children’s Hospital. She is actively involved in education and research. She is the director of the UBC Pediatric Rheumatology training program and is involved in the education of medical students and medical residents. Her research interests include physical activity and exercise in children with chronic illness. Her clinical practice at Kids Physio Group is focused on the assessment and management of musculoskeletal injuries and illness in active kids and the promotion of physical activity to keep kids healthy.
