This webinar will provide a detailed overview of the upcoming doctoral award competition for the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Doctoral (CGRS D). The CGRS D are awarded through national competitions by the three Canadian federal granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
This webinar will cover eligibility criteria, competition details, and application procedures. There will be time for Q&A.
Who should attend?

Important note regarding International Applicants: Applicants who are not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or protected person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada), must be enrolled in their doctoral program of study at the time of application. International student applicants to the fall 2025 CGRS D competition who are not registered in a PhD program at UBC for the fall 2025 term will be deemed ineligible.

Brendan Morey is the Assistant Dean, Student Administration and Awards, in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, with many years of experience overseeing scholarship competitions and collaborating with funding agencies across Canada.
