What was the best surprise about UBC or life in Vancouver?

Vancouver is already the greenest city in the world: I love being able to breathe in the fresh air at the various parks. It is an ideal place to learn the best practices for environmental protection, however, it rains a lot - you have to be prepared for that!

Why did you decide to study at UBC?

UBC is among the leading universities in the world. Both the standards of education and students' lifestyle make it an ideal place for studying; it provides unique programs such as land and water systems which can help me to achieve my goals.

What is it specifically, that your program offers, that attracted you?

It is a one-year professional program that stimulates innovation and provides the best management practices to address emerging environmental challenges.

Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?

I want to gain advanced skills and sufficient knowledge to be able to address emerging problems in land and water systems.

What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?

I like exploring the outdoors; it is so amazing to observe the sunset at Wreck Beach. Working outside makes me feel more connected with nature, and thus more concerned with its protection.
