Western Canada 3 Minute Thesis Live-streams May 2

Stephanie has advanced to the regional 3MT completion to be held at the University of Calgary, on May 2, 2014 at 1 p.m. PST (2 p.m. local Calgary time) by placing first in the UBC annual competition held on the Vancouver campus in March.

Virtual audience members will be able to vote for their People’s Choice online through a link on the above website. The online voting for People's Choice will open immediately following the last 3MT talk and will remain open for 10 minutes.

The three students most triumphant in Calgary will have their videos entered into the inaugural Canadian national virtual English language 3MT competition sponsored by the Canadian Association of Graduate Studies (CAGS).

This year more than 80 University of British Columbia (UBC) graduate students took up the challenge of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) with the aim of effectively expressing their thesis research as a three-minute speech for a general audience.

Videos of the semi-final and final presentations are now up on the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Youtube channel.

Whether you choose to view one or many, we are sure that you will find inspiration, new knowledge and a fresh appreciation for the range and depth of graduate research happening across UBC’s graduate programs.
