UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jacquelyn Cragg as the Strategic Advisor, Postdoctoral Affairs, for a three-year term.
Jacquelyn is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair. Her research integrates large-scale administrative and clinical health data to study the causes, consequences and treatments of neurological disorders – such as spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She is committed to open science and inclusive research practices and is known for using evidence to drive equitable health outcomes. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Michael Smith Health Research BC Scholar Award, the L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent Award, the CIHR Inclusive Research Excellence Prize, and the YWCA’s Women of Distinction award.
As a former UBC postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Cragg is deeply committed to mentorship and leadership. Her passion will inspire generations of researchers for years to come.
She will be looking at equitable funding for postdoctoral fellows and advocating for policies and procedures that better reflect the contributions of postdocs in UBC’s research ecosystem. Dr. Cragg began her role on July 15.
