From November 22 to 24, 2023 we are celebrating 1,474 graduands who have earned the right to cross the stage at convocation. In all, 1,222 Master's and 252 PhD students from nearly every faculty and discipline will celebrate their graduation in the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. The Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS) Office wishes them the best in all their future endeavours.

Added to this year's ceremonies will be the installation of Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon as UBC's 17th President and Vice-Chancellor. His installation ceremony will be broadcast on November 22, as part of the graduation festivities.

Indigenous graduate students are welcome to attend an additional ceremony at the Longhouse on Saturday, November 25, at the First Nations House of Learning. For more information visit their website.

doctoral citations

View the latest doctoral citations on our website, such as previous graduates like Dr. Beaty who studied human impacts and relationships with the ocean. She revealed the broad negative effects of climate change on marine animals and identified traits and places that increase vulnerability. She also co-created a values-mapping project with Indigenous and local partners in the Salish Sea. Her work helps us steward life in the ocean.
