This session will provide a detailed overview of the Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS) and Affiliated Fellowship award competition for Master’s-level funding, including advice on writing a successful application. Eligibility criteria for major funding agencies will be reviewed, as well as application procedures and tips for putting together a strong application.
Who should attend?
- 4th year undergraduate students planning to pursue a full-time, research-based master’s program or
- 1st year full-time, research-based master’s students.

Facilitator
Brendan Morey is the Assistant Dean, Student Administration and Awards, in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, with many years of experience overseeing scholarship competitions and collaborating with funding agencies across Canada.
Registration Information
Registration will open on Monday, October 21st at 9 am.
Registration is open to 4th year undergraduate students planning to pursue a full-time, research-based master’s program or 1st year full-time, research-based master’s students. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email at the email address associated with your community.grad.ubc.ca account.
