Recognizing the graduates of 2020 to 2022

From November 23 to 25, 2022, more than 1,550 graduate students will be receiving their diplomas. In all, more than 1,200 Master's and 350 PhD students who have earned the right to cross the stage at convocation, from nearly every faculty and discipline. The Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS) Office wishes them the best in all their future endeavours.

In addition to this year's graduands, alumni from the Class of 2020 (spring and fall) and 2021 (spring) have been invited to return to their respective campuses in November 2022 for special make-up ceremonies. The make-up ceremonies, held from November 15-18 and 21-22, were well attended by alumni from across the globe.

On Saturday, November 26, at 11 a.m., the First Nations House of Learning will be hosting a graduation celebration at the Longhouse to honour Indigenous graduates from the Fall 2022 class. The celebration will be live streamed and added to the Indigenous portal afterwards.

doctoral citations

View the latest doctoral citations on our website, such as Dr. Kelsey Copes-Gerbitz (Raybould), who explored the relationship between people, forests, and fire through time in British Columbia. Her research shows that fire has long been an important natural and cultural process but that transformative change is needed to ensure we can all equitably coexist with fire in the future.

"I do not foresee the end of my PhD research as the end of my academic career, but rather a stepping stone towards building relationships and connections to the people I want to work with in the long-term." - Dr. Copes-Gerbitz
