You could be! Join the audiience for the semi-final rounds of UBC’s 3-Minute Thesis Competition and be inspired.
All around the Vancouver Campus UBC’s fifth annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition has seen a flurry of outstanding presentations as graduate students challenge themselves and each other to inform us about their research in just three minutes.
This year more than 100 graduate students have taken on the challenge to participate, honed their public speaking skills, and competed in faculty & department organized heats over 6 weeks of competition. This week promises to be a wonderful showcase of graduate student research where 32 heat winners will show us how it should be done in two semi-final rounds with the top 8 advancing to the finals.
This opportunity to reach a global audience is bigger than ever. UBC’s first place finisher will advance to a regional completion. Top finishers from that competition will go on to contend for national honours in a virtual completion sponsored by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS)
Join us in the audience for the semi-final and final rounds and experience the student’s passion for their work and their ability to share its purpose and direction with clarity and passion.
