Being intentional with Your Career Exploration and Job Search

Career exploration and job searching can feel overwhelming, particularly when you’re unsure where to focus your time and energy. This session will explore practical strategies for approaching your career exploration and job search with greater intention and direction. 

This session will discuss how to:

• Strategically research the labour market  
• Learn how to uncover opportunities in the “hidden job market” 
• Use career conversations to learn about different career paths, build relationships, and expand your network 
• Stay engaged and maintain momentum throughout the career exploration and job search process

There will also be opportunities for discussion and Q&A throughout the session.

Facilitator

Rebecca Dirnfeld, MA, is a Career Educator who works with the UBC Career Centre to support graduate students at UBC. She has a Career and Work Counselling Diploma from George Brown College. Her past experience includes leading the graduate student career education portfolio for graduate studies and managing the MBA careers team at Toronto Metropolitan University, and in providing career advising to business students as a team member of SFU’s Beedie Career Management Centre. Rebecca is also a part-time graduate student in UBC’s EDST MA program.
