An 80,000-word thesis would take nine hours to present. Our graduate students only have three minutes. Join us on March 31, from 12:00-1:30 p.m., for the 2021 Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) virtual final and hear from UBC’s top ten graduate students on their inspiring research.
From the discovery of novel antimicrobial fabrics that could help reduce the rate of infections in hospitals, to the exploration of new modes of active travel in Vancouver, like the human-electric hybrid vehicles that have become so popular in recent years, our ten finalists span Faculties and research fields.
Hear from Sarah Morris on how using advanced MRI to track myelin loss after spinal cord injury can help predict which patients will regain function and which will have a permanent disability, and learn how Tebogo Leepile’s research hopes to inform, and guide targeted and culturally-appropriate health and nutrition policiesfor the San People, in rural Botswana.
This year’s UBC 3MT final will be hosted virtually by Dr. Matthew Evenden, Associate Vice-President, Research and Innovation.
Our judges are:
