Anirudh Asuri Mukundan
Postdoctoral Fellow
I work on the numerical modeling of red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), and platelets for blood flow. The objective of my PostDoc project is to develop a holistic numerical model that describes and characterizes the blood flow in human blood vessels thereby helping in retroactive improvements to the external heart pump and dialysis machines. The global objective of this project is to establish a strong collaboration between our research group in Department of Mathematics and the UBC Hospital to verify and validate the developed numerical model for practical purposes to identify the early stages of the blood cells loss and deformation happening especially for diabetic patients.
