My research study is directed toward the attitudinal barriers associated with the employment of adults with disabilities. This study will further generate validity and reliability evidence for the Co-Worker Acceptance of Disabled Employees (CADE) Scale. This study will be conducted within two private organizations based in British Columbia and will be comprised of two parts. The first will be the administration of the CADE Scale to a large group of employees in order to obtain data suitable for a statistical analysis of the internal structure of the scale. The second will be the administration of the scale on a pre- and post-intervention basis to several smaller groups of employees who have participated in short disability awareness training sessions. Analyses of these data will determine whether the CADE Scale is capable of measuring short-term changes in participants' attitudes toward disability in the workplace.
