Postdoctoral Fellow

Currently I am undertaking an animal model of inflammatory bowel disease study using Muc2 KO mice. These mice lack a mucus layer and therefore develop spontanous colitis by 12-16 weeks of age. We are feeding these mice either a fermentable fibre free or prebiotic enriched diet to determine what impact fibre has on the development of sponanteous colitis and understand the mechanisms of action involved.
