Master of Education in Physical Education (MEd)
The Physical Education program will appeal to elementary, middle, and secondary school educators with interests in: integrated and thematic approaches to curriculum and pedagogy; development and evaluation of outdoor environmental, leadership or experiential education programs; active living, health promotion and wellness; movement education concepts; teaching games for understanding; inclusive models of education and issues of equity and social justice.

Join our Graduate Student Ambassadors Samuel Adenyanju (MSc Forestry, Nigeria), Federico Andrade (PhD Public Health, Colombia), Maria Angélica Guerrero (MA Educational Studies, Colombia), Xining (Linda) Yang (PhD Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, China) and Dorine Akwiri (Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs, Kenya) who will be available to answer questions about their experiences at UBC, including topics such as accommodation, moving to a new city/province/country and settling in, making friends, being an international student, and more. This session is open to participants interested in different programs across all faculties at UBC. Please note that we will not be able to provide answers to questions regarding application or admissions policies or any that involve specific personal information.
A resume or CV and a statement of intent clearly outlining the area of interest and focus for study. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their plans with a Department member before applying.

Prior degree requirements
One to two years’ of teacher education; or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Education. In special circumstances teacher education may be waived for those applicants who have a university degree with sufficient standing and experience related to their proposed field of study.
Prerequisites / Course Requirements
Normally 18 credits of senior course work or a professional concentration in the area of interest.
Normally two years teaching experience or other relevant professional experience.
