Vancouver Korean-Canadian Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Likely June 2018 The Vancouver Korean-Canadian Scholarship Foundation (VKCSF) is a charitable organization dedicated to providing scholarships to qualified students with Korean heritage or to those pursuing academic studies related to Korea. VKCSF encourages students to contribute to the well-being and prosperity of the Korean-Canadian community and the wider Canadian society.

Transdisciplinary Understanding and Training on Research - Primary Health Care (TUTOR-PHC) Friday, 01 December 2017 Transdisciplinary Understanding and Training on Research - Primary Health Care (TUTOR-PHC) is a one-year national interdisciplinary training program funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation (CHSRF) with representation from the disciplines of Family Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and Education. The Kathryn Huget Leadership Award Likely June 2018 The Kathryn Huget Leadership Award is available for students studying at the Master’s or PhD level, preferably in the areas of organizational behaviour, business administration, business and commerce, sociology, or psychology. Awarded to any individual, with preference given to female students currently in leadership roles, whose focus is to improve the business workplace for women.

The ENTELLIGENCE Young Investigator Program Letter of Intent: Thursday, 02 November 2017 The ENTELLIGENCE program provides opportunities for individual young investigators to promote quality medical care and enhance patients' lives by supporting research (basic science, translational and clinical research) in the area of pulmonary hypertension (PH) related to expanding our knowledge of the pathways involved in pulmonary vascular pathobiology and ultimately, to improve treatment for patients with pulmonary hypertension.
The Bentley Cropping Systems Fellowship Likely in October 2011 Provided through the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Bentley Cropping Systems Fellowship provides assistance to Canadian and developing-country graduate students with a university degree in agriculture, forestry or biology, who wish to undertake on-farm research with cooperating farmers in a developing country. Proposals must focus on very simple cropping systems research that can benefit smallholder farmers in developing countries, especially rural women farmers. Projects should seek ways to increase the yield of food crops, improve farmers' livelihoods, and improve soil fertility.

Stasiuk Master's Research Fellowship Likely March 2018 Stasiuk Master's Research Fellowship is awarded annually to a student writing a thesis on a Ukrainian or Ukrainian-Canadian topic in the area of education, history, law, humanities, arts, social sciences, women’s studies, or library sciences. Because funding is for thesis work only, all other degree requirements must be completed by the time the award is taken up.
SSHRC Talent Award Applicants: check with graduate program (likely February 2018); Graduate program nomination deadline: likely February 2018 The SSHRC Talent Award recognizes outstanding achievement by a current SSHRC doctoral or postdoctoral fellowship or scholarship holder. The Talent Award is given to an individual who maintains academic excellence, has a talent for research and knowledge mobilization and has demonstrated clear potential to be a future leader within and/or outside the academic sector. One Talent Award will be awarded by SSHRC from the nominations submitted by Canadian universities.
SSHRC Graduate Scholarships Applicants: check with graduate program (most likely mid- to late September); Graduate program nomination deadline: 4:00pm on Friday, 13 October 2017 SSHRC Doctoral Fellowships and Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) Doctoral Scholarships provide financial support to outstanding students pursuing doctoral studies in social sciences or humanities.
SRK Graduate Scholarship Likely May 2018 SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. offers a graduate scholarship with the intent to assist students undertaking graduate studies in mining industry related areas.
Spring Graduate Awards Competition Check with graduate program in 2018; Graduate program nomination deadline: likely April 2018 A number of University awards for current and upcoming academic year are available to current and incoming graduate students.
Sponsored students Friday, 01 August 2014

Last day for sponsored students to submit application to have fees billed to a sponsoring organization. Students who do not submit their applications by the deadline will be required to pay the first instalment of tuition fees by September 5 to avoid financial hold procedure (see Fees).

Soroptimist Foundation of Canada Grants for Women Graduate Students Likely January 2018 The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada annually offers several $7,500 grants to female graduate students in Canada to assist them with university studies which will qualify them for careers which will improve the quality of women's lives.
SERB-UBC Scholarship Likely March 2018 This award, a collaboration between The Science and Engineering Research Board, India (SERB) and UBC, provides up to 5 scholarships per year to PHD candidates in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It includes a monthly living allowance of $2,000 plus funding by UBC covering the tuition costs.
Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada (SWAAC) Graduate Student Award of Merit Usually December Awards of $3,000 each will be awarded women graduate students who have demonstrated leadership while maintaining exemplary academic records. UBC may nominate one student to the Western Provinces competition every four years. The next competition will be in 2021.
Science Policy Fellowships Saturday, 10 December 2016 The Science Policy Fellowships program gives health researchers and trainees the opportunity to gain real world experience in health policy making. Researchers from all areas of health can apply to spend six to twelve months in a policy setting where they will work as part of a policy team.
Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists Likely July 2018 The prize is awarded annually to one young scientist for outstanding life science research for which he/she was awarded a doctoral degree in the previous two years. The topic of the entrant's thesis research must be in one of the following categories: Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics and Proteomics, Ecology and Environment, Translational Medicine.
Scholarships for Exchange Students Likely April 2018 Exchange scholarships are available to students from Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, Africa, South & Central America, Mexico, Caribbean, and Chile to undertake research or study at UBC for a period of 4 to 6 months.
Robert Bertram Doctoral Research Awards Likely May 2018 The Robert Bertram Doctoral Research Awards have been established to promote Canadian-based research on corporate governance and build Canada’s corporate governance research capacity by encouraging the next generation of young scholars.
Rio Tinto Graduate Scholarship Program Check with graduate program; G+PS nomination deadline: likely May 2018 Rio Tinto offers an $18,000 research scholarship for a UBC graduate student in a field of pure or applied science related to Rio Tinto's activities.
Rick Hansen Man In Motion Fellowship Likely March 2018 The Rick Hansen Fellowships are awarded to UBC students with a physical disability.
