The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) Hydrotechnical Division administers the CSCE Hydrotechnical Engineering Student Award for the best master's thesis report related to water engineering and water management. This award is intended to recognize an outstanding master's thesis that demonstrates high quality research technique, high quality presentation of the work, and relevance to water engineering and water management in Canada. Students are nominated for this award by their university. Each thesis must be accompanied by a letter of nomination from the directing professor. This award is in the form of a certificate, full registration to the CSCE Annual Conference, and a $1,000 cash award.

 

Nomination Procedures

From February 2016: Each nomination should be submitted by email to Adam Auckland, Hydrotechnical Award Administrator aauckland@golder.com. Complete nomination should include:

  • a PDF of the thesis
  • a letter of nomination from the directing professor (supervisor)
  • contact information for both the student and the professor

Supervisors should nominate students directly to CSCE. MSc, MASc, and MEng theses/reports are eligible.
