Grad Prospect, July 2021

Welcome to July’s issue of GradProspect, the newsletter for prospective students on UBC’s graduate programs! This month, with application season approaching we look at how to explore the more than 300 graduate program options at UBC, hear from our Graduate Student Ambassadors on why they chose UBC, and read some advice from faculty members on what they look for in a grad school application.

It's time to explore our graduate degree programs!

Our website is packed with useful information on our programs and faculties. A great place to start is to read an overview of our 12 Faculties and more than 300 programs. You can search through all of our graduate degree programs by Faculty, degree level, mode of delivery, and type. i.e. research or course-based programs. Search our programs.

Why choose UBC?

There's a multitude of reasons to choose UBC such as our academic excellence, incredible facilities, fantastic location, and our innovative and international culture. What are faculty looking for in a graduate school application?

Bird's eye view of UBC's Vancouver campus

Our Vancouver campus is located at the western tip of the Point Grey Peninsula in the city of Vancouver. It’s a truly unique campus, surrounded by forest on three sides and ocean on the fourth, and is just a 30-minute bus ride to Vancouver's downtown core. The campus has been located on this site for most of its 100-year history; a location that is the traditional territory of the Musqueam people.

We recently came across a great video of campus from Eye Spy on YouTube that we enjoyed and would like to share with you. Experience a bird’s eye view of campus and see if you can spot some of the hidden objects!
