UBC Internal Banting Competition now open

Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 UBC Internal Banting Competition.

As one of Canada’s most prestigious trainee competitions, the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to the country's economic, social and research-based growth. Host institutions play a critical role in the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program and are asked to endorse only their highest-calibre postdoctoral researchers. Supervisors who have identified applicants of this calibre are encouraged to work with these candidates in preparing a Banting application package for submission to the UBC Internal Banting Competition.

The internal Banting selection process at UBC is managed by the Postdoctoral Fellows Office (PDFO), and the deadline to apply for the 2019 Internal Banting Competition is Friday, July 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM PDT.

Since 2010, UBC has been home to dozens of Banting Postdoctoral Fellows, among them Dr. Brianne Kent, now at Harvard Medical School and a recent appointee to the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and Dr. Jeremy Hirota, now an Assistant Professor at McMaster University and Canada Research Chair in Respiratory Mucosal Immunology.
