This August 2019 new information was added to the Faculty of Graduate Studies’ GEAR site (Graduate Education Analysis and Research), which provides the university community and external agencies with a range of statistical reports, data analyses, and surveys on UBC graduate students and programs. This includes numbers for admissions, enrolment and demographics, academic progress and career outcomes, dating back to 1995.
For more detailed information, or to view breakdowns of data by source country, visit the UBC Faculty and Staff portal. There, you can find an overview of application, offer and registration data by country, as well as search for information within the country listing of the IEM and for all countries together in the data section. In addition, a new mapping visualization was recently added, showing applicants by mailing address country, and year of application.
GEAR can be used by UBC faculty for strategic recruitment and enrolment planning, assessing student academic performance, enhancing the graduate student experience, strengthening financial support for graduate students and self-study in the broader context of UBC and beyond.
