Amir Abdi, a UBC PhD student, has received the $10,000 NSERC Gilles Brassard Doctoral Prize for Interdisciplinary Research. Abdi and his team use dentistry and computer science to develop technology that accurately models patient-specific jaw motions. This research has the potential to improve the treatment of patients with head and neck cancers.
