UBC's Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS) is inviting prospective students to explore the university's course-based and professional graduate programs during Course-Based Programs Application Week, running online from October 19 to 23, 2026.
With more than 90 course-based programs spanning UBC's faculties — from health and business to engineering, science, education, and the arts — the week gives prospective students the chance to meet program staff, ask questions in real time, and find the program that fits where they want to go next.
Nearly 30 online info sessions will run over the five days, covering programs such as the Master of Global Health, Master of Physical Therapy, Master of Community and Regional Planning, Master of Food and Resource Economics, Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, Master of Health Administration, Master of Educational Technology, and the Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture to name just a few. There will also be general sessions from G+PS on building a strong application.
The week highlights the career impact a course-based degree can have. Based on survey responses from UBC graduates between 2014 and 2023, 93% of alumni are employed or self-employed, with careers spanning the for-profit, education, government, and non-profit sectors. Programs like the Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture build in an eight-month co-op placement, while Master of Data Science students complete a capstone project with an industry partner — recent teams have worked with organizations including Boeing Digital Solutions and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
"Course-based application week is a great opportunity to discover our wide range of professional and course-based programs," says Shane Moore, Marketing and Recruitment Manager at Graduate Studies. "We hope prospective students will explore our directory of programs and sign up for program sessions they may not have considered previously. Many of our graduate programs recruit from a wide range of disciplines, so if you are thinking of graduate education, be sure to explore all the options open to you."
Open to all prospective graduate students, these sessions are free, but registration may be required.
