Statistics III: Two Group Comparisons and ANOVA Models (via Webinar)
Date & Time
Registration Closed / Past Event
This is the third workshop in a 6-part statistics series.
NOTE: Due to the large # of statistical software available, this session will not be about any specific software but, rather, the methodology behind the software.
A detailed discussion of how to compare data from two groups or conditions using a t-test and the assumptions involved. We generalize to compare more than two groups by analysis of variance (ANOVA) including two-way ANOVA where the groups are defined by two categorical variables.
Want to get an idea of what to expect? Check out the video below for a teaser from last year's session.
The Applied Statistics and Data Science Group (ASDa; asda.stat.ubc.ca) in the UBC Department of Statistics provides assistance in the statistical formulation of research questions, the design of experiments and sampling plans for surveys, the choice and explanation of statistical methodology, statistical computing and graphics, statistical analysis, the interpretation of findings, and more. ASDa also plays a role in continuing education on and off the UBC campus, giving seminars and workshops on statistical concepts and methodology to various departments and research groups and at teaching hospitals.
Biljana Jonoska Stojkova. Biljana has been a statistical consultant with ASDa since June 2017. She has recently completed her PhD in Statistics at SFU, where she focused on developing Bayesian algorithms. During her studies she held numerous teaching assistant positions in introductory and high-level statistical courses.
Registration opens on Monday, December 3 at 9:00am.
