This presentation provides a detailed overview of upcoming scholarships, awards and fellowships competitions for graduate students, and provides advice on writing a successful application. Eligibility criteria for major funding agencies will be reviewed, as well as application procedures and tips for putting together a strong application.

Who should attend? Full-time, research-based domestic and international students who are (i) Master’s students planning to undertake a PhD program by September 2018 or (ii) PhD students who are currently starting the first, second or third year of their program.

Bring questions and become informed about the upcoming competitions.

Presenter

Brendan Morey - Brendan is the Assistant Dean, Student Administration and Awards, in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, with many years of experience overseeing scholarship competitions and collaborating with funding agencies across Canada.

Registration Information

Registration opens on Monday, August 28th at 9:00am.

Priority will be given to UBC graduate students registered in the current academic session. Confirmation of registration will be sent within two working days.
