Come and get some serious writing done with our thesis boot camp sessions.  What is a boot camp?  “a program or situation that helps people become much better at doing something in a short period of time” (Merriam-Webster).

Bring your laptop or your notebook and pen, along with any research materials or data you will need, and enjoy 2 hours of quiet, distraction-free writing along with other like-minded graduate students. A writing consultant will be on hand to answer questions that you may have, but the focus of these sessions is on providing you with a quiet space in which to get work done.

Register for one session or come for all 3.

  • 10:00 AM -12:00 PM Tuesday, April 26th
  • 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 27th
  • 1:00 - 3:00 PM Thursday, April 28th

Boot Camp will be hosted by Meghan Aubé.  Meghan is the Writing Services Coordinator and Program Leader at the Writing Centre.  Before coming to UBC, she taught literature, rhetoric &composition, and was involved with Writing Centre work in the United States.  Currently, she runs the writing tutorial service at UBC, which offers support to both undergraduate and graduate students.  She holds an MA in English from Iowa State University, where she focused on masculinity in working-class literature.
