UBC Graduate Studies

Join us for an Indigenous Graduate Writing Circle, a dedicated space for Indigenous graduate students to write in community.

Whether you’re working on a thesis, course paper, dissertation, research project, or creative work, you’re welcome to come as you are and write at your own pace.

Alongside dedicated writing time, the Writing Circle offers an opportunity to connect with other Indigenous graduate students, share resources and strategies, and be part of a supportive, community-centred space grounded in care and mutual support.

The 90-minute session will include a brief welcome and check-in, dedicated writing time, and an opportunity to reconnect and share at the end. There is no expectation to share your writing, and participants are encouraged to use the time in whatever way best supports their work.

Registration Information

Registration is open to all current UBC Vancouver Indigenous graduate students, including First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Indigenous students from outside of Canada (e.g., the United States, South America, Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, and beyond).
