International Tuition fees
UBC highly values outstanding international research students. As such, we offer most international students in PhD or research Master's programs a tuition scholarship (International Partial Tuition Scholarship) that significantly reduces the international tuition fee. See our fees compared with some international peer institutions:
| University | UBC | Univ of Toronto | USA (UC Berkeley) | UK (Oxford) | Australia (Melbourne) |
| Research Master's or PhD | $7,491* | $16,082 | $12,274 | $19,217 | $22,987 |
*international student rate. Many students will qualify for the International Partial Tuition Scholarship (IPTS) which reduces the international tuition by up to $3200.
(Please note that the fees vary from country to country, between universities in countries and due to bilateral agreements. This is a guide only, based on full time study and a full study load. The cheapest Master or PhD program was used for the comparison. Data from 2011. Tuition fees rounded. Currency conversions have been calculated with the exchange rate as of May 19, 2011.)
International tuition rates for some UBC graduate programs, esp. professional programs, are higher. See tuition fees for more information.
Student fees
All registered UBC students must pay mandatory student fees. There are no differences between student fees for international and domestic students (except for iMed health insurance). See student fees for more information.
Application fee
A non-refundable application fee is required to apply to a graduate program at UBC. For international applicants the current fee is $153 CDN. Please refer to application fee section for more information.
