The British Politics Group invites applications for the seventh annual James B. Christoph Prize for the Best Conference Paper on British Politics presented by a junior faculty member. The paper (or poster) must have been presented at a conference during the 2010 calendar year. All papers on British politics, whether solely on Britain or comparative, are eligible. For the purposes of the award, a 'junior faculty member' is defined as having been granted his or her PhD within the last 10 years. |

One Killam Teaching Prize is awarded annually to a faculty member in recognition of excellent graduate-level teaching. This is intended primarily for teaching excellence in graduate course work, although excellence in other areas of graduate education such as program development or mentoring will be given some weight. Candidates may be nominated by colleagues, current graduate students, or alumni. |
| Gustave O. Arlt Award in the Humanities |

Named in honor of the first president of the Council of Graduate Schools and first presented in 1972, this award is made annually to a scholar-teacher in the humanities. The recipient must be teaching in a North American university, have earned a doctorate within 7 years of the award date, and have written a book of scholarly importance. Subjects fields are selected annually. Awards have been made in literature, history, linguisitics, foreign languages, philosophy, archaeology and musicology. The 2012 competition is in the field of World Language and Literature, Comparative Literature, Drama/Theater Arts. |

The Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice provides funds for a $7500 Research Fellowship in order to support research related to the Institute's annual conference theme. The completed research is expected to be presented at the Institute’s annual conference in 2013 in Toronto and published with its proceedings. For the 2012 competition, the annual conference theme is:"How Do We Know What We Think We Know: Facts in the Legal System." Open to faculty and graduate students at Canadian universities. |
