New Programs and Curriculum Committee
Mandate
To provide broad academic review of all proposed new graduate programs or major revisions of existing graduate programs received from Faculties and to recommend when appropriate to the Graduate Council.
The Committee ensures that all documentation, including change forms and curriculum reports approved by Faculties, supporting materials, and evidence of appropriate consultations is complete. Curriculum changes approved by the Committee are submitted to the Senate Curriculum Committee, and reported to Graduate Council in the New Programs and Curriculum Committee report. When required the Committee seeks additional consultations on new courses or course changes, and may bring proposals forward to Graduate Council for discussion prior to final committee review.
For instructions on how to submit a curriculum proposal, please visit the Preparing Curriculum Proposals section of our website.
Membership
The New Programs and Curriculum Committee is normally comprised of representatives of curriculum committees from each Faculty, representatives of the Senate Curriculum Committee, and graduate student representatives of the Graduate Student Society. The Associate Dean, Student Academic Services and the Director of Student Academic Services from the Faculty of Graduate Studies are ex-officio members.
