CSCE Hydrotechnical Engineering Student Award

Quick Facts

The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) Hydrotechnical Division administers the CSCE Hydrotechnical Engineering Student Award for the best master's thesis report related to water engineering and water management. This award is intended to recognize an outstanding master's thesis that demonstrates high quality research technique, high quality presentation of the work, and relevance to water engineering and water management in Canada. Students are nominated for this award by their university. Each thesis must be accompanied by a letter of nomination from the directing professor. This award is in the form of a certificate, full registration to the CSCE Annual Conference in Ottawa (June 14-17, 2011), one year's free membership to CSCE, and a $1,000 award.

Procedures

Nomination Procedures: 

Each nomination should be submitted by email to michael_bender@golder.com. Complete nomination should include:

  • a PDF of the thesis
  • a letter of nomination from the directing professor (supervisor)
  • contact information for both the student and the professor

Supervisors should nominate students directly to CSCE.
