CIHR Synapse Mentorship Awards

Quick Facts

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Synapse Mentorship Awards are given out to emphasize the importance of mentors in developing Canada's next generation of health researchers. The CIHR Synapse Mentorship Awards honour persons who have made exceptional contributions to the promotion of health research among Canadian secondary school students. Three awards are offered - one to a graduate student/postdoctoral fellow student ($5,000), one to an accomplished researcher ($5,000) and one to a research group ($10,000).

Eligibility

Candidates must be official CIHR Synapse mentors at the time of the nomination (to become a CIHR Synapse mentor, potential candidates simply have to create a CIHR Synapse Profile). They must have engaged in productive and sustained youth engagement activities focused on stimulating or maintaining an interest in health research in young people at the secondary school level.

Evaluation Criteria
