Program Closure

When a student has completed all program requirements, the SAS clerk closes his or her program.

For thesis programs, clerks are sent a copy of the student's thesis receipt and this will notify them to close the student's program. For non-thesis programs, the Graduate Secretary must send a memo to the SAS clerk to confirm that the student has finished all program requirements. Students are charged fees until the end of the month in which their program is closed, so timely notification, especially in non-thesis programs, is important.

Before graduation, programs will be asked to check the following for each student:

  • all grades are entered
  • student's registration was continuous
  • all program requirements, conditions etc. have been met

It's a good idea to check these as each student finishes the program.
