Candidacy

Doctoral students must be advanced to candidacy within 36 months of their initial registration. FoGS highly recommends that you review your PhD students’ records each term to ensure that they have advanced to Candidacy within the time limit, and that FoGS has been notified.

An Excel Candidacy Tracking tool is available on the web site at Grad Admin/Tools and Templates to help you track your students' progress towards candidacy.

Please use the "Recommendation for Advancement to Candidacy” form to notify FoGS when a student has completed all requirements for candidacy.
