Call for Nominations for the 10th Anniversary Mentor Award

If you are a UBC PDF with an exceptional supervisor/mentor, express your appreciation by nominating them for the 10th Anniversary Mentor Award. Offered by the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA), the recipient will receive a plaque, an honorarium of $500, complimentary registration to the 2012 NPA Annual Meeting and a $1,000 travel stipend.

The award recognizes a faculty member who has engaged in exceptional mentoring of postdoctoral scholars as exhibited by the following:

  1. Has advocated for postdoctoral scholars.
  2. Has been accessible and provided open lines of communication to postdoctoral scholars.
  3. Has created a supportive environment for research; has shown respect for the postdocs' goals and assisted them in fulfilling those goals.
  4. Has provided them guidance in professional development.
  5. Has demonstrated a sustained commitment to creating a productive working environment that enhances the overall postdoctoral experience.
