GPS/VCHRI Event: Time Management

Who will benefit most from this session? Graduate students who are experiencing difficulty in managing their time and want suggestions and strategies for balancing a variety of demands.

Offered in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, this session will help you succeed as a graduate student by providing:

  • strategies for staying on top of tasks and planning your days,
  • tips for assessing your use of time,
  • ways to set priorities,
  • guidelines for using the five steps of time management,
  • approaches to make the most of your hours of study and work, and
  • ideas for using down-time to achieve wellness and balance.

Facilitator:  Patty Hambler, Student Development Officer (SDO) – Wellness, has worked in supporting both undergraduate and graduate students in various roles at UBC since 1999. As the SDO-Wellness, she oversees various initiatives at the Wellness Centre and is involved in implementing the Healthy Minds at UBC initiative for the Vice President, Students portfolio.  She is currently working on a graduate degree part-time.
