Conflict is inevitable whenever people interact. If not properly managed, it can become confrontational, personally stressful and unproductive. The Joy of Conflict Resolution, a 2-part workshop series, is facilitated by Gary Harper and features two interactive sessions based on Gary’s book by the same name. In attending these sessions, you will learn how to move beyond confrontation and address conflict productively.

Session 2: Tools for the Conflict Toolbox

This session will allow you to:

  • defuse a conflict through effective listening skills
  • ask probing questions to uncover root needs
  • assert yourself and set limits to inappropriate behaviour

UBC Bioenergy Research and Demonstration Project

This project is the first combined heat and biomass system in North America. It will generate both heat and clean electricity through biomass gasification. For the UBC campus, the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions will be equivalent to taking 1100 cars off the road.
